Long Strange Trip

As the calendar pages of 2023 flutter to a close, I find myself contemplating the year that has passed. Looking back, this year has been the most productive and fulfilling one yet. It's been a year of defining my life's trajectory, sharpening my focus on the future, and realizing the path I need to carve to reach my goals.

The achievements of this year are more than I anticipated, each marking a significant step in my journey. I navigated the challenging waters of the MCAT and applying to 26 medical schools, a process that was as introspective as it was demanding. My creation of the Ultimate MCAT Guide stands as a testament to my commitment to helping others succeed, blending my passion for education with a foray into the world of marketing and sales.

Perhaps one of the most enjoyable projects has been starting a podcast with my brother. It's become more than just a medium for expression; it's a channel that keeps us connected, fostering conversations and strengthening our bond as siblings.

This year was also significant in terms of personal health and fitness. I've taken my running to a new level, shaving 13 minutes off my half-marathon time and clocking in over 400 miles. The discipline extended to my gym routine, ingraining fitness as a non-negotiable part of my daily life. Furthermore, I'm proud to have been selected to run the Boston Marathon, a challenge I eagerly anticipate, coupled with a successful fundraising effort.

My community involvement was highlighted in the successful campaign to save The Brewery from being turned into a parking garage. While my role was modest, the petition I initiated gathered nearly 5,000 signatures, contributing to this cause. Amidst these accomplishments, I've prioritized family and friends, consciously working to deepen these connections. I've surrounded myself with people who inspire and challenge me to grow.

So, what does this all mean for the coming year? It means there's still room for growth, reaching new heights, and setting more ambitious goals. My aspirations for the new year include engaging in coffee chats with Dean Galea, attending additional lectures and seminars, expanding the podcast's reach, reading more, reducing screen time, and of course, continuing this blog.

As I prepare to welcome 2024, I can't help but look forward to the opportunity to make the classic "I haven't ___ since last year!" jokes in January. But more importantly, I am excited about the potential for growth, learning, and experiences of the new year. Here's to another year of striving, achieving, and building the life I want to live.

Cheers
